How many calories should I eat during lockdown?

I’ve been asked this a lot and as much as I’d like to take one look at someone and pull a number out of the sky, it’s not quite that simple 💡 

Firsty, to figure out how many calories you SHOULD be consuming for your goals, we need to know how many calories you ARE consuming at the moment 🤷‍♀️ 

The easiest way to work this out is to track your calories as accurately as possible on My Fitness Pal.  Weigh out every single food and drink (including oils in cooking and sugar in coffee) then you’ll know where the sneaky calories come from as well. 

Once we have a calorie target in mind then you need to be consistent with it so that we can adjust it appropriately towards your goals and take into account your activity levels.  We can’t possibly know if you’re not consistent💡 

Lockdown has made us all or most of us a bit less active so it’s important to adjust calories accordingly. 

The more you move, the more you need and the less you move the less you need.  This is the same whether your goal is to lose or maintain weight.  Gaining weight is also the same but you still need to be in a surplus – just not too high.
